Leaving Japan
I wanted to post an entry in the trip blog. 500 yen gives you a 24-hour pass to the Narita wifi network, so I spent it.
Last night, after dinner, we went to see someone that attended MPPC, who's also a founding elder of the church Stu and Hilary attend. His testimony was really something. He started off as a chauffeur for his wife and children, driving them to church but waiting in the parking lot for them. One day he decided to go in and see what they were doing in there. Drat it, my notebook is in the bag I checked in, so I don't have my notes. Anyway, he talked about having a hard time at work and a hard time raising his children, and hearing a message that inspired him to cast all his burden on the Lord.
It was so refreshing talking with him and his wife. Carol and I told him that we were feeling like we should move back to Japan, whether for a few months or a few years. So this morning at church, when Carol talked about language school, he told her that the Holy Spirit can use her, even without learning a lot more of the language. What an encouraging word!
Our flight, scheduled for 4:05, now says 15:50 (3:50pm), a 15-minute acceleration. This introvert is alone at the gate while everybody else is shopping. It may be time for a nap soon.
Might we return to Japan soon? Maybe! We have a high schooler at home a few more years. And in the meantime...
*** Gaaa... the Narita wi-fi stopped working. Posted from home 22 hours later
