Lethargy as a spiritual weapon
Yesterday as we thought about heading over to Sensouji, at least some of us, maybe all of us, were feeling a little tired. I think if someone suggested that we'd had enough activity for the day, the rest of us might have agreed.
But having gone to Sensouji and walked around the place praising and praying and singing (quietly), we suspect that the feeling of lethargy was something inspired by the devil and his minions. So we are all glad that we went.
I suspect that this kind of spiritual attack -- of course the devil cannot actually harm us -- this kind of whispering "you're too tired to do that now; tomorrow would be soon enough" etc., happens a lot more often than we think.
Not that every such thought comes from the devil, but some of them certainly do.
As James tells us, "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." And it worked out that way yesterday. Thank you Lord!
Please continue praying for us, that we would be alert to the devil and his schemes. Thanks!
